The team of Huisartsenpraktijk Nassaulaan consists of 11 employees: three GPs, a GP in training, three assistants, two nurses, a psychologist and a child psychologist. In addition to this, there is a nutritionist as well working at the same location.
GP Jacques de Milliano has consultation hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Interim GP Irina Schend has consultation hours on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Interim GP Maud Visser has consultation hours on Friday.
The practice is located in a modern renovated building between the historical centre of Haarlem and Haarlem Central Station. When waiting for your appointment, you can take place at our reading table in the waiting area. Do you have a question or do you want to pick-up/deliver something? The assistant at the counter is more than happy to help.
In order to offer a wide variety of primary care, the practice cooperates with psychologists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, speech therapists, the home care service and other professionals.
In the area of chronic-care (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, lung diseases and care for vulnerable elderly) the GPs are supported by the practice nurses Irene Fortgens and Simone Steggink.
The general tasks of the assistants consist of, amongst others, scheduling appointments, visits and prescriptions. Furthermore, they give medical advice in consultation with the GP. The medical tasks that the assistants execute are, amongst others, measure blood pressure, measure glucose levels, remove stitches.
If needed, the Spoedpost can consult your General Practice Nassaulaan file. This is only possible when you have given consent and it will always have to happen in accordance to the privacy-law. Parts of your file can be foreclosed after consulting your own GP.
The GPs in the practice work with appointments. They want to treat your problem and/or question with care. An appointment of 10 minutes is in general too short to answer multiple questions or analyse a more complex problem. Therefore, the doctor can ask you to schedule a new appointment. You can also ask the assistant to schedule a double appointment (20 minutes). This will also help to reduce the waiting-times. Additionally to this, you can ask non-urgent medical questions to our team via the secured Patient Portal. This portal also enables you to request repeated prescriptions and schedule an appointment.
For urgent matters you will be able to make an appointment on the same day. In other cases it is advised to make an appointment 1 or 2 days in advance. In cases of emergency you can always come immediately. Do please call us in advance (through the emergency phone number) so we know that you are coming. If needed, we can immediately come to your home or call an ambulance.
When making an appointment, we kindly request you to call between 8:00 and 12:00. The assistant will briefly ask for a reason for your visit. This enables us to identify the urgency of the matter and the time needed for the appointment. When calling in the afternoon for an appointment on the same day, please only do this in case of urgent matters. For non-urgent matters you can schedule an appointment online through the patient portal.
In the practice, Jessica Lieve is working as a psychologist for adults and Leonie van de Lustgraaf as child/young adult psychologists. They work together with the GPs when treating and supporting patients with psychological and (psycho) social issues. With both a psychologist and child psychologist in the practice, we are able to provide rapid, easy accessible care to patients with psychological and (psycho) social problems without creating extra costs for the patient. More information can be found through the sub-menus Psychologist and POH-GGZ Youth.
If you wish to request a home visit by the GP, please call us between 8:00 and 11:00 and schedule an appointment.
Home visits are only meant for seriously ill or infirm patients. As the practice has better research and treatment facilities than a GP can bring to a home visit, we prefer you to visit us in the practice.
You can call the assistant for test results or when you have medical questions.
When you have a non-urgent medical questions we advice you to call during the morning. If the assistant is unable to answer your question, the doctor will call you back later that day. Please leave a phone number on which we can reach you. In general it is more difficult to assess your medical condition by phone. A consultation can therefore still be needed.
You can request test results by phone with our assistants, preferably in the afternoon. The assistant will provide you with your results or first consult the GP. If needed, the GP will call you back. Please do give us a phone number on which we can reach you.
There are 3 ways in which you can request prescription refills for chronic use:
Our preference goes to the online service and the perscription-line.
